Xrumer Review

When I bought Xrumer there was no PayPal option. I took a pocket full of used bank notes down to the Post Office and sent it on a one way trip to an address in Moscow.
Mr Botmaster then went AWOL for some time, which was a bit worrying, before re-surfacing on Skype with my keys.
That was the easy part. The next problem is proxies. You need lots of reliable proxies. Paid proxies are mostly no good as Xrumens are not welcome on those services. So, unless you know about proxies, dont get Xrumer.
The next problem is harvesting a decent list. Xrumer ships with Hrefer, a pretty good scraper, but to get the best results you need to use the “inurl:” operator. Only one search engine I know of supports that operator, daddy G, and daddy G ban IP addresses very quickly if they see that operator being abused. I left Hrefer running for a couple of months and still ended up buying a target list from one of the better “blast” services to supplement my own.
Ok so your finally set with Proxies and a good LinkList, now you need bandwidth. I have Xrumer running at 35mbps or so which gives you some idea of what you need to run it. I have it on a dedicated server which costs me more money per month. A server is also good as you need to be able to leave the thing running for days on end.
When choosing a server, you need to consider where it resides on the interwebs, i.e. you need it to be close to a backbone if at all possible.
I see hawks on the Xrumer scene selling “bullet proof hosting unlimited bandwidth”, but having seen their stats or spoken to their customers they are only able to run those servers at maybe 8mbps. Its like saying “drink as much as you like” then giving you a very long straw with a very tiny hole in the middle…. bogus.
I use regular main stream hosting companies and have never had a problem. They want my money, I am not breaking the law or screwing up their hardware, and if people are that bothered by the odd bot (robot) passing through their sites it is pretty easy to keep them (robots) out.
Xrumer is unique amongst submitters in terms of its ability to break captchas. Lots of applications claim to “auto solve captchas” but they cannot. What they do is integrate with a captcha solving service where you pay someone in a develping country pittence for solving the captcha manually.
Xrumer solves captchas programatically, no need to pay for additional services for most target sites. They have solved a lot of captchas over the years.
Xrumer ships with its own scraper, Hrefer for finding target sites. It also includes a comprehensive set of tools for filtering those targets, removing duplicates, removing adult sites you dont want links from etc.
The other unique feature of Xrumer is its ability to run reliably at 1000 threads. It is way way faster than any other software on the market, it really is industrial strength.
Another unique feature is the ability to hold conversations, so, you can save a post and then go back and reply to it as another user.
You can choose to register profiles without actually posting if you want to. You can go back in and edit profiles at a later date if you want to.
It goes without saying this application can spin your posts.
Another really good feature is the ablity to read in remote link lists over HTTP, link lists as in your target links, stuff you want to backlink.
Xrumer also includes a scheduler which has a large number of events and actions you can choose from. I would not like to try it, but there is even an option to automatically upgrade Xrumer, i.e. it can upgrade itself (I have never tested this, and dont plan to).
The scheduler can actually download projects over HTTP, and download files to its own root directory.
Essentially what this means is that you can control most of what Xrumer does via remote websites. Why would you want to do that?
Well, Xrumer ships with two licenses, so you could have two Xrumer installs working of the same queue of jobs.
When I saw the the options available in Scheduler, it was immediately apparent why they were there. It was not to run two servers, it is to run 20, or maybe more. I spoke to one guy that was running 20, and I know of a couple of others who are running over 10 servers.
To help keep the show on the road another small app is bundled with Xrumer called “control.exe” which can restart Xrumer periodically, or restart it if it crashes. So, if Xrumer crashes control.exe will restart it, useful if you are off sunning yourself somewhere whilst your network of 20 servers merrily goes about its business!
It is a serious bit if kit, and unlike anything else on the market. Other apps have tried to say they are “the Xrumer killer”, but have not even come close. There is NOTHING else remotely like Xrumer on the market.
So, technically its impressive, but what about the links it gets?
Utter shite of course. You dont really believe you can get thousands of good links automagically do you? For the most part Xrumer gets links from forum spam, profile spam, guest books. This is quantity not quality, but in the words of another famous Russian:
“Quantity has a quality of its own” (Joseph Stalin)
And that is what Xrumer is good at, quantity. Thousands and thousands of shitty links.
Some people say you can use these on money sites. I have never done that myself and do not plan to. You may get away with it, but if you ever come to sell your site on then it will not do you any favours. I know that G does not like profile links that appear and dissapeaer, and this can get you a penalty for sure, it has been tried and tested by myself and another associate of mine.
However, the penalty is not permanent, the sites bounce back, and for good reason.
In todays world people link their own sites to try and get them ranking. If search engines started banning / permanently penalising sites utilised these kinds of links, what do you think would happen?
Ill tell you… users of this software would stop promoting the 1 site they own, and instead start blasting their 10 nearest competitors. It would literally explode. People already experiment with this stuff on competitors sites.
So yeah, you can get yourself booted out of the SERPS for a couple of months with this thing if you are not careful.
Should You Buy Xrumer?
When I bought Xrumer there were no blast services around, but today there are lots of them. I think for most people an Xrumer blast services is the best place to start, rather than jumping in at the deep end with your own copy.
Consider Xrumer if:
- You are building infrastructure. I dont see Xrumer as a link building tool so much as an infrastructure building tool
- You have the money to run a half decent dedicated server, or have enough bandwidth and a machine you can leave running in yoru home
- You have the time to invest in learning how to use it
- You have the time to invest in building your target lists
- You are confident of getting around the proxy issues
- You have a plan as to what you want to do with it
Xrumer a lot of hassle to work with and there is very little support available on how to use it. The forum is very quiet, there is little sharing of information. It is not something you can just download and use, well you can, but you wont get much out of it.
Xrumer is worth the money for what it does no question, but Ill wager most people who have it do not get much value from it.

I agree that it is a steep learning curve, but if you are a serious SEO consultant, or you make a living helping others to rank, then Xrumer is indispensible. You want the best. You will spend nights on end learning to use it because really there is no alternative if this is bread and butter to you.
